The value of Indonesian batik is not just solely on visual beauty. Furthermore, batik has a philosophy which values high and full of experience transendenitas. This is the underlying value that appears in the final visualization batik composition itself.

Activities batik is a process that requires patience and tenacity in addition, also requires sincerity and consistency is high. This can be seen from a series of processes, ranging from preparing fabric (washing, pelorodan, pengetelan, pengemplongan), make a pattern (ngelowongi), make the stuffing (Ngisen-iseni), Nerusi, Nembok, until Bliriki. Through a series of long process, we can note that the manufacturing process requires time and patience is not small.

Batik can be seen from several aspects, namely: the process of batik, batik quality, motive, and the color of batik (for some people there who consider the meaning or value contained in a piece of batik cloth).

Visually, batik has a grip-specific standard that must be applied in its use, both in the grip and the grip pattern making use of motifs along with event or ritual ceremony to be held. As an example Parang Rusak pattern which may only be used by the Prince or pattern Truntum designated for the bridal couple.

Colors used in batik palace limited to natural dyes, the article had not been found during the synthesis of dyes. Based on the cosmology of Java, the application of colors like black, red, white or brown refers to the applicable standard. All the rules aimed to alignment and harmonization. Alignment and harmonization itself is a major goal of local wisdom in the creation of works of art, in this case is batik. Creation is a part of everyday life. This is presumably in accordance with the adage "art as art", not art for the limited wealth.
