Indonesia Stand Out dalam Arizona Asian Festival di Phoenix

The presence of Consul General and Mrs. Haryati Subijaksono, accompanied by Chief Kanselerai Tompodung Rica, Consul Pensosbud Agusti Anwar and latitude BPKRT following Tetraeni Consulate General of Los Angeles art team is a support for community participation in Indonesia at the Phoenix Festival as the largest Asian cultural event in the State of Arizona, the United States.


At noon, the Consul General had the honor to deliver remarks at the opening ceremony attended by government officials from the Office of the Mayor of Phoenix, Chamber of Commerce and representatives of the FBI in Phoenix as well as thousands of citizens of the city of Phoenix including the communities of Indonesia.


In his speech on the main stage, Consul General congratulated for the implementation of an annual event become a means to strengthen relations between the Asian community in Phoenix, as well as local government. Consul General also expressed his gratitude for the opportunity given to the Indonesian community in Phoenix, so that through this event can promote Indonesia more broadly with relatives other Asian nations.


Asian Festival was attended by 12 Asian community in Phoenix, namely Korea, China, Japan, India, Pakistan, Laos, Philippines, Iraq, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia that opens the exhibition booth as well as dozens of tents selling souvenirs, handicrafts and the typical food of each country. The 12 communities are also displays of art and culture in the country's main stage, which begins with a fashion show featuring traditional dress of each country.


Participation in the Festival Indonesia Indonesia was initiated by the American Association (IAA) chaired by Andy Soesilo, with the opening of the exhibition booth and fill the Indonesia cultural art performances that involve the whole potential of the local Indonesian community and the full support of cultural arts team Consulate General of Los Angeles.


Hundreds of visitors was very keen to visit Indonesia stand, decorated with traditional Minangkabau wedding decorations complete. Colorful glitter of decorations "Baralek sieve" is very prominent among the exhibition stand of the other Asian communities. Moreover the two student members of the Phoenix Permias stand guard also dressed with clothing Minang.


Promotion of Indonesia is shown by exhibiting diversity such as songket weaving, and batik ulos, art crafts of the masks and wood carvings, miniature custom home (and home gadang Minang Toraja), and a Kanthil angklung (Balinese gamelan percussion instrument) as well as objects culture and tourism posters from various regions in Indonesia. In Indonesia this stand, to the visitors and tourist brochures have been distributed disc DVD titled "Indonesia: The Ultimate in Diversity".
